I created both of these pieces using images that I took throughout the year. The people in the images are very special to me and the landscape is one of the many places that we have gone and created many memories there. In the first image, i call "My Worlds Existence". I chose a background of white. I dropped the opacity to different levels in the photos of my children and my fiance. I used the shaping tool and created the landscape into that of "the world" this image is compiled of the things that in my world are most important to my existence.
In the second image i did not choose a title. However it contains also only my children and the landscape as the background. I dropped the opacity of the landscape and left it in color. I chose to change my children's images into a simple black and white image. I also used text and included some of the things i tell my children to hold on to.

The combination of the two images each have very special meaning.

Final project - Work in Progress

What kind of mood/message are you attempting to create? A message of happiness and peacefulness. This project will have a lot of meaning to me personally.

What other elements do you plan to add to your piece or in what ways are you planning
to refine it? not sure yet, still playing with it and will possibly post several options when i am done.

What size will you print your piece and why? I am not sure at this point, i will decide upon completion of the project.

Do you have alternative plans for finished presentation? At this point. no.

What kind of feedback are you looking for from your classmates? Maybe on the size they suggest for printing, when the project is completed of course.

Final Project Proposal

For the final project I would like to take my own images of things and places that are important to me and make a collage. I want it to blend together into one image as a whole. I am not sure what size I woul want to print until I see the end result. I do not have a starting image as I still collecting the images for this project. Excited to see how it turn out!

Assignment 4

I created this image using a horse head skull.  I wanted to do more to it than i did but this is what i ended up with, i will continue to do more with this image! One of my favorite projects so far! And it has so many possibilities to do more with it!

Assignment 3

I started this because i wanted to show how often i was actually in the car driving. It seems to me that i live in my vehicle, but after watching through the week,  i must have picked a bad week to keep track. because typically i hardly see home. Not one of my favorite assignments, but this will have to do for now.

Assignment 3 proposal

Well I have had so many different ideas for this project. I have a huge love for music of all kinds. But I see that several others are also doing that. I thought about doing something with mood changes over a few day period. So I think I have finally settled on one. I am going to map the miles I go in my car. It seems as if I live in it sometimes, so I have already started keeping track of where I have been. I came up with this when Kate showed us some of the different ones in class, and there was one artist that did something similar over a longer period of time. We will see how it goes, I may still change my mind. I plan on just using lines and no images. We'll see!

Well this is this final. Today many wildlife are being pushed from their homes by retailers and businesses of other kind building in their homes. This is sad, so much beauty is being taken from the land by doing this. I just thought i would try to show through this assignment, and i think its pretty straight forward.

ASSIGNMENT 2 Well after many days of thought i think i have finally came up with the idea of a high rise building in the country. I chose this because so much of the beauty and wildlife of the country has been or is beginning to be taken over, by retailers. I have also toggled with a few other ideas but i find myself coming back to this. Who knows i still may change my mind. The influence for this project came from Josh Keyes. I plan to use most images from the public domain so that i am not violating any copyright laws.

Summary of Copyrights and Art

Basically what the article is saying, is that if you are going to use someone elses material whether it is art in the form of photgraphy, paintings, drawings etc, and incorporate it into something of your own there are procedures you should follow. The safest way to follow the procedure is to check the works first and see if their is a copyright by going on the U.S. Copyright Office website. There are also three places you can choose items from 1)freeware,2)copyright material or 3)the public domain but you may still have to pay a fee to use them. The fees are there to make sure that the artist, or photographer recieves monies for their personal benefit of you using thier piece. Basically be careful in taking the credit of someone elses work and making it your own, or you could find yourself in legal matters, or having fines to pay in the end.

Darker with the Day

As i entered the gallery the first thing i noticed was the larger window that appeared as though i was viewing into the window but could see nothing but darkness. As i turned the corner i seen another window appearing to be the same size as though i was now looking out of it into light. I turned and there were three windows of the same size with the same table but the objects and time of day seem to have changed through the sequence of paintings. As well as the view of the table from different angles, the chair being placed or used at different sides of the table or the chairs not being used at all. All three paintings consisted of a tsble, and two chairs with one painting containing also a recorder, candlestick and quart of juice, this particular painting had the effect on me that it was possibly in the early morning. The second table consisted of the same objects and added also a gallon of milk, salt shaker and soda and the time of day appeared to be mid-day. The third and final painting was again of the same table, now missing the gallon of milk and salt shaker and appeared to be in the evening possibly. All three paintings used the colors of gray, black and white and seemed to be very similar. Subtle changes such as the chair position, objects differing on the table, and position of chair, and the candle being slightly burned being the differences i seen. I am still not sure if it was about the table, the views from different angles of the table, about elapsed time in a day, or all of the above. I did however like them with a favorite being the larger windows and just the simplicity of them.

Remembrance

Assignment 1

I came up with this because on January 23, 2012 I lost my father to Pancreatic Cancer. I know they say the pain gets easier but at this point I am not so sure that's true. This is a compilation of the thoughts that pass through me about him on a daily basis. Everything in these photos had meaning to him and now they have an even bigger meaning to me!
I chose to leave the things a little more visible and also could have put many more photos in there too.
I chose to leave them more visual to represent them slowly fading away!
I hope you enjoy and welcome any advice you may or may not have.

Christiane Paul Digital Art

I picked the following Artists from the reading we were assigned:

Nancy Burson: I found it to be very interesting how she takes one image and "morphs it with another. I especially liked WarHead 1
Joseph Scheer: I found it interesting how he actually creates the images, with a favorite of mine being the luna moth images.
Oliver Wasow:   I actually like too many of his images to pick a favorite or even a few of them. I love vibrant landscape photos that are exactly as the article says " a believable reality that might exist in an unknown place"
